The community has been urging Council to create facilities that will make boating safer, and therefore strengthen Warrnambool as a venue for professional and recreational fishing. The community has also expressed a view that improved facilities in the harbour would create a major tourism drawcard for the city. The State Government funded a study to examine possible options for the Port.
The study is now available for download or a hard copy can be viewed at the Warrnambool Civic Centre.
Written submissions, addressed to Manager Infrastructure Services, Warrnambool City Council, PO Box 198 Warrnambool 3280, will be received until 5pm Friday 1 June 2012.
All feedback will be reported to Council before a decision is made about whether to investigate funding options and proceed to a detailed design phase.
What you are urged to do is write a simple letter to the council stating your name and address and why you WANT to see the council go ahead and implement some boating infastructure that is surge pprotected and will allow Warrnambool to become the jewel of the west that it should beaddress your letters to
